01. Srividhya Sanchar, a graduate student from India, came to West Virginia, the United States in August 1994. Religion is one of the most important things in her life. Even though most people in West Virginia (WV) are Christian, she tries to practice her Hindu religion, and her strong faith in the Hindu God Ganesha has never changed. Everyday she puts a red mark, called kum kum, on her forehead because Hindus believe that covering this part of their face protects them from hypnosis and harm.
